As Contributing Editor, I covered exciting new developments across the Walt Disney family of brands for Disney Newsreel and D23. I managed content for the inaugural D23 expo guidebook, an event that attracted nearly 50,000 attendees. The guides have gotten flashier since 2009, but I was fortunate to contribute content for the inaugural D23 Expo official guide book. Our team was shocked to attract 50,000+, and these days, the event draws over 100,000 attendees. Not bad for a little mouse. When I first covered Twitter's impact on media ratings, the platform was new and the world was surprised. My experience with ABC's Nightline team showed me that new media would have a big impact on business, a realization that I carried through in my subsequent position at the NYSE. As an avid environmentalist, I was thrilled to cover Disney's Worldwide Conservation Fund. It didn't hurt that I got to sit down with 17-year-old Selena Gomez to discuss her "Friends for Change" initiative with Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and The Jonas Brothers. While rumors swirled around that young crew, the most scandalous tidbit I discovered was that Selena occasionally forgets to turn off the lights. Don't worry -- I'm sure she's switched her habits by now.
